No. 10/8 Indiana (7-0) defeated No. 18/15 North Carolina (5-3), 77-65, on Wednesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

• The Hoosiers are 7-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 season when Indiana opened the year with an 8-0 start.

• Mike Woodson is the first Indiana head coach to start each of his first two seasons with a 6-0 or better record since Branch McCracken did it in 1938-39 and 1939-40.

• Indiana is 9-13 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge with a home record of 6-4.

• Indiana head coach Mike Woodson and North Carolina head coach Hubert Davis are two of only eight active Division I men's basketball head coaches who are coaching at their alma mater and are former NBA players.

• Indiana will play its next game on the road as the Hoosiers will head to Rutgers for a Saturday, Dec. 3 matchup with a 4 p.m. ET tip time at Jersey Mike's Arena. It will be Indiana's first Big Ten contest of the season.

• North Carolina assistant coach Sean May is the son of Indiana great Scott May who was the 1976 National Player of the Year and helped lead the Hoosiers to the 1976 NCAA Championship and a perfect 32-0 season.

• Indiana's Miller Kopp and North Carolina's Pete Nance reunited in tonight's matchup after spending the first three years of their collegiate careers together at Northwestern from 2018-2021.

• Indiana's Trayce Jackson-Davis and North Carolina's Armando Bacot both played in the 2019 McDonald's All-American Game. The two of them are among the last six players of the group who are active college basketball players.

• Indiana shot 50.0% from the field, making 31-of-62 shot attempts.

• This was the 34th double-double of his career.

• With Jackson-Davis' 21 points, he has moved to 12th in Indiana's all-time scoring list with 1,703 career points, passing Brian Evans.

• This was Jackson-Davis' 15th career game notching 20+ points and 10+ rebounds in a game.

• Jackson-Davis has recorded multiple blocks in 24 of his last 41 games.

• In each of Jackson-Davis' four games in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, he has recorded at least 15 points, eight rebounds, and has had multiple blocks.

• Fifth-year senior Xavier Johnson had 20 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals. This was his 15th 20-point game in his career.

• Freshman Jalen Hood-Schifino had a career-high 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Hood-Schifino also had six rebounds and two assists.

• Junior Trey Galloway had a season-high 11 points on five-of-seven shooting. The junior had had three rebounds and two assists.

• Sophomore Tamar Bates scored three points off the bench.

• Fifth-year senior Miller Kopp had two points and three rebounds.

• Sixth-year senior Race Thompson recorded two points, two rebounds and two blocks.

• Freshman Malik Reneau notched two points and three rebounds.

• Junior Jordan Geronimo had two points, two rebounds and two steals.
