Balluku: We will sell electricity

The change in the meteorological situation has brought a significant improvement in the flow level in the cascade of the Fierza hydropower plant, but also in the other two lakes, while the forecasts are that the rains will continue and, consequently, the water level in the hydropower plant will increase. The situation is so optimistic that the Ministry of Energy is considering starting the export of electricity or exchanging it with Kosovo.

"We are being careful, we are working with 4 aggregates, but on the other hand we will have to see how we will manage it, since the flows will be during the next day and will continue until the 23rd. We must be careful not to have downloads. We have to exchange energy with Kosovo or we will go to the market to sell."

Today, the water level in the Fierza hydropower plant has reached 268 meters.

But along with Prime Minister Rama, Minister Balluku, who covers both the Energy sector and the infrastructure sector, is optimistic about the completion of the investment in the Orikum-Dukat axis, which she inspected this Friday.

"This project will end before March 2024 as progress has been good."

In the nearly 15 km long segment, almost 70 percent of the works have been completed.

This work is being done in Public Private Partnership and several engineering works are foreseen, including 3 bridges.
