Why can’t they just say what’s there? Surely there is something of interest to the state that they could get permission to remove and in some way prove the tech works.

Seems best to keep everything shrouded in mystery. One must not forget the CEO has to keep that 350 grand a year salary going. This creative media scheme just might do the trick in spite of no treasure.
