The link at the bottom of this post is an article describing how to calculate the cost of charging an EV.
The basic calculation involves the cost of electricity (in kilowatt hours, kWh) times the energy capacity of the battery (also in kWh).
An example of a Nissan Leaf is given as follows:
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the average cost of residential energy in the United States during August 2022 was 15.95 cents per kWh. Should you drive an entry-level Nissan Leaf, complete with a 40 kWh battery, a full charge is going to cost you 40 times that figure — which is $6.38.
