BRS Enters into Manufacturing Agreement with CIMSA Ingenieria de Sistemas SA (Spain)
Tuesday February 13, 4:00 pm ET

SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:BRSI - News; BRSparachutes.com), a manufacturer of whole-aircraft parachute recovery systems for general aviation and recreational aircraft, announced that it entered into a manufacturing agreement with CIMSA Ingenieria de Sistemas (Barcelona, Spain), a designer and manufacturer of a variety of military parachutes for the European market as well as advanced ram-air wings for precision aerial delivery. Under the terms of the agreement, BRS will fabricate CIMSA-designed parachute components for export to Spain.
"This agreement allows us to leverage our long-standing parachute manufacturing expertise outside of our own organic customer base. We will learn new manufacturing techniques from CIMSA which can only help us with our own product mix, while CIMSA gains an additional partner as it gains momentum for their products in the Latin American and US markets," BRS CEO Larry Williams said. "It's definitely win-win for both of us as we help each other understand new markets and manufacturing techniques."

"BRS and CIMSA are very complementary in terms of products and corporate structure. We speak the same technical language and have the same passion and demand for high quality products and processes. It will be a comfortable transition for both parties," says BRS VP of International Operations, Gary Moore.

Full production of CIMSA's products begins February 19th and orders are expected to continue on a regular basis for the foreseeable future.

Ballistic Recovery Systems has delivered more than 25,000 parachutes since beginning operations in 1980. More than 3,000 BRS systems are flying on certified aircraft with that number growing rapidly. BRS is credited with saving the lives of 199 pilots and passengers.

CIMSA Ingenieria de Sistemas is an engineering based European leading parachute manufacturer with a wide product range in personnel military parachutes, aerospace parachute components, sports parachutes and precision aerial delivery systems. After more than 60 years of existence it has fully certified design and manufacturing operations and develops strong ties with a myriad of European customers.

The forward looking matters discussed here should be considered subject to risks and uncertainties, including market fluctuations, pricing, procurement, manufacturing efficiencies, and other risks that could cause the actual results to differ materially from those projected.
