Yep, Jerome. It's a mile over my head too, just some sticks. And much serves as revision which never harms. Also, wonks from Krugman like that go to underline the quicksand we stand on when we are critical of any of them who understand all the theory behind what they do. Just remember many who mean right get it wrong too. That's why the QAnon assholes are so up themselves. They know even less than nothing because they actually believe fantasies created by imaginary links between people and events. Then they say well it didn't work out so whoever was in charge was actually in it only for himself. For too many people it's too easy to see those in power as less trustworthy than they see themselves.

I don't see the connection you draw here

"You state that to trust this guy is our best choice but then post a comment
by Plato that refutes the benefits of experiential knowledge. Hmmmm.
"

In my signature Plato is not saying Socrates position on wisdom refutes experiential knowledge at all. Like i first thought it's just that Socrates was saying to those who believe they know it all that in fact they don't.

You are still taking that too literally. I'll find another, and post it to one of mine in that conversation later.

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
