It’s GEGI’s most recent acquisition and, apparently, they invented the transformer. An autonomous vehicle that can act as a semi hauler or a railroad engine and can transport standard semi trailers over rail. The advantages are obvious. Autonomous rail is far easier to program than freeway travel and since rails are private property there are less regulatory hurdles. GEGI states that they will be able to produce working prototypes in 4-6 months. If they can meet that lofty goal it would show a massive ability to produce results.

“Glid’s patent-pending technology, the first of its kind, enables two specially-made “Glider” vehicles to independently and autonomously move under an unaltered fully-loaded semi trailer, connect to both the king pin and rear axel and then lift the trailer.”
Apparently, Glid will hold the patent for this product. Additionally, the Gliders are able to pick up regular semi trailers and transport them to a private parking lot where they can be picked up by a regular semi eliminating loading and unloading times.
I suspect that GEGI is starting with Glid because it requires very simple autonomous programming since it runs on rails rather than the road and because rails are private property they don’t need to jump over as many regulatory hurdles. I also suspect they have lots more plans to revolutionize American freight transport.
We shall see how they plan to mass produce this vehicle. They may have Einride producing it or Vanderhall Motor Works factory in Provo, Utah.

Both companies are listed as partners of Kasey Evans’ VC. Or, perhaps they plan to create their own factory.
There’s big money in this project. Einride is a multibillion dollar startup company with partners in the mega corporation category. It seems that some huge companies have been told to cut back on emissions and they’ve decided Einride’s vision is the fastest way to do so. If GEGI is caught in that wave of cash this company is going to be huge.
One more thing I wanted to point out, here is GEGI’s website:

They sound like they have bigger plans than just one albeit revolutionary vehicle.
