Or your broker will charge you a fee to 'take it off your hands'. All brokers do this, but read the disclaimer when they want to remove your stock as worthless where it says ...'At any later time if 'abcd' stock is traded we have the right to trade the stock on market with no compensation to this account'. or similar.

It begs the question, if the stock is worthless why even have this type of boilerplate?
So basically, brokerages are saying, you haven't traded abcd in years so we're just going to take ownership from you. If true multiply this times 100k's of accounts.
