Hi Arizona1, (it will only cover about 25% - 30% of what I need to live) and saved accordingly.

I also worked for IBM for many years which in exchange for a slightly lower salary, provided a decent pension benefit. But even that pension benefit a generation earlier would have covered 75% of a married couple's retirement expenses, covers only 50% of mine. So once I had my monthly mortgage payment under control, I started saving via 401K.
So pension+401K+SS = my retirement income. I'm too young to collect SS so I still work part time.
