This boils down to a question of a market for a lower cost test that is not as accurate as the laboratory test. If you set the level of RECAF to indicate a negative at or very near 100% level (specificity), then the test could be used for screening. The sensitivity of that test would be really low and could not say you have cancer.

After thinking about this more, you probably could eliminate some laboratory tests but the doctor would have to have absolute confidence that the test could clear the patient of the possibility of having cancer.
