Sheesh. Fire is my greatest fear in this house.
The longer I live here, the more I wonder about the wiring.
The last renovation (before my time) was done by a contractor of ill-repute.
The building inspector at the time could be bought off with a case of beer.
I find more and more flaws as time goes by.
Fingers crossed my greatest fear is never realized.

You were blessed that your daughter and grandchildren weren't in the house when the fire happened.
I know that life is the most important thing.
But hell. Losing a lifetime of memories is soul sickening.
