These hare brained conspiracies fuel the fringe far right. It turns out facts are whatever you want to believe. What if I told you that a good number of people seriously believed that Democrats were running a child sex operation out of the basement of a pizzeria in DC that doesn't have a basement?

Or that JFK Jr is still alive? Looks like a fair number of American Conservatives had parents who were siblings.
