Not way better just way wrong. The claim that short volume is actual short positions is clearly not accurate by any stretch of the imagination. The data does not show Any defined form of shorting. Of course one should probably read FINRA's notice discussing this very thing.

Way better than the bi-monthly which all institutions shorting know in advance and try to hide numbers around those well-posted reporting dates.
