634 million euros from foreign business, Italy increases flows, Turkey withdraws

The flow of investments from foreign businesses reached 634 million euros in the first half of the year. The growth is 8% year-on-year and Italy has taken the lead as the main investor in 2022.

Enterprises with the Italian logo spent 75 million euros, followed by the Netherlands with 70 million euros and Germany with 59 million euros.

On the other hand, Turkey is seen to have withdrawn from business in Albania. The businesses of this country invested 32 million euros in the first quarter, but withdrew 91 million in the second quarter.

The capital invested in Albania shows that foreign direct investments are concentrated in the oil and energy sectors.

This is clearly evidenced by the fact that the hydrocarbon sector has dominated the flow of new investments. Meanwhile, energy is also being used with investment shifted from HPPs to solar and wind plants.

Investments from abroad remain an important indicator for the growth of our economy, where from last year, our country began to apply the obligation for companies to declare the origin and the final owner of the companies registered in our commercial register.
