I always look for corroborative evidence of something going on at the Port. They don't publish nearly as much information as they used to, but a couple of "circumstantial" things have caught my eye looking at public notices in Natchitoches:
1) The minutes from the port of Natchitoches says the are working on getting a rail spur to the Northport Tract. This is the tract where BMSPF is going and they are proposing a rail spur with their project.
2) The Red River Water Way Commission has a port next to the BMSPF's proposed site. This port didn't start having regular meetings (at this location) until about a year ago and now they are suddenly purchasing up to 485 acres of mitigation land. Could be totally unrelated, but thinking about where timber is to be stored, I'm wondering if this is related. Could be a coincidence, but they went from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. Could be for another project or ours. I'll need to read the minutes again.
