I believe every damn word as it's about the only thing that fits this crazy scenario, imho. My only issue is that if hedgies shorted 80% of the market and the market crashes and they are able to hold on to their short position (selling everything else), they may come out on top as usual. Everyone else, including and especially retail, will be screwed as usual.

If the hedgies get wiped out, imho, it would all be worth it. Then maybe financial governance will improve so all investors and tax authorities can benefit.

Thx for posting this.

Something I saw on the FB AMC Investor page which was copied from Reddit:

Can we talk about stock market implosion?

I had a 2 hour discussion with a very seasoned banker tonight and my mind is blown! Between banks offloading cash (liability) to the government in exchange for treasury bonds (asset) to the tune of $2.3T/day (reverse repo); to the SEC trying to tighten a lid on a coke bottle filled with mentos, which by the way was his analogy, our market is going to implode. I know it’s been discussed here but this shit is real. His point was how the government has literally been 100% feeding the beast. We all knew this. But get this, talking to a 65 year old man that’s been in the industry for his whole working career, I ask, why. His response, “over leveraged HF’s shorting 80% of the market”. He estimated that there was 2,500 stocks targeted that have been shorted well beyond shares available and roughly 200 of those have been shorted over 10X+ their outstanding shares. Again, this dude has been in the game for 30 years, he’s never seen such unregulated shorting in his life. He predicts we will see a market crash like we’ve never seen in our lifetime. It’s happening and it’s going to wipe out HF’s from A-Z. It’s also going to pull the rug on the whole US economy. So how do we prepare? “Put your chips in the 200 + stocks I eluded to”. Checkmate.

If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken.
