Bought an Iahl stock certificate from a so call friend for x amount of shares for cash and he gifted me the certificate. Seemed legal since we went to a bank for some type of stamp. It was mailed and I received the certificate in my name about a week later. He was a board member who committed suicide about 8 months later. When the stock was at .47 I tried to sell it through my ameritrade account which would not accept it. Then though the issuing broker in Utah. They said no. Do I have a useless piece of paper or is their still a chance? Can anyone comment.
