Balluku: Procurement processes are open and transparent

13:07 - September 19, 2022

Although described as one of the most problematic processes, Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku declared today that procurement processes in Albania are open and transparent.

At the "Procurement, Integrity, Management and Openness Forum" conference, Balluku said that the results achieved will positively affect the negotiation process, given that procurement is one of the chapters.

"We are confident that the results achieved will positively affect the integration process, which has started with the fifth chapter, public procurement. Despite the crises, the path of reforms and the construction of a transparent public procurement system will be a solid foundation. I want to thank all the supporters, the financial institutions that have believed in us.

By supporting projects that affect the direct lives of citizens. I also want to thank you for the support you have given us throughout this path of reforming the state and reducing corruption. A path that still has a lot to do. We will manage to improve these results" , she said.

Focusing on the energy crisis, Balluku emphasized that the country needs to go to the market to buy 30% of the energy it knows and is therefore affected by prices. However, according to the minister, the government package will not allow consumer exposure.

"We have to go to the market to buy 30% of the energy. This crisis is also creating problems for companies. But the government has decided through a social shield, the package, to prevent citizens from being exposed to this crisis.

It is a difficult challenge to face in the conditions of a limited budget. In parallel with coping with this crisis, we are working with our plans to increase production capacities. We have a number of projects that are developed in our country", she said. /abcnews.al
