(MT Newswires) -- Fresh Tracks Therapeutics (FRTX) said Tuesday it has launched the multiple-ascending dose portion of an ongoing first-in-human phase 1 trial of its FRTX-02 drug candidate in both healthy adults and patients with atopic dermatitis, a type of skin inflammation.

"We are encouraged that FRTX-02 has been safe and well-tolerated thus far and remain on track to report phase 1 [single-ascending dose] and [multiple-ascending dose] topline results by early 2023," Fresh Tracks Therapeutics Chief Medical Officer Monica Luchi said.

Shares of the company rose 16% in recent trading activity.
