Rama responds to the opposition: You are talking nonsense, this is how much energy Albania produces

Prime Minister Edi Rama, through an appearance at a press conference where he also presented a bit of anti-crisis, has responded to the opposition's accusations regarding Albania's profits from the sale of electricity.

Rama said that this money was used for other expenses of the country. While he emphasized that Albania, even in the best year, had not even managed to produce the energy to consume it on its own, therefore it had to import it at the market price.

Rama : If this vile government would not use the money that sells the energy for other things, they should understand that they are talking about something meaningless. Albania, even in the best year in terms of rainfall, which has not been coming for 4 years, cannot produce all the energy it needs for itself. Even when hydropower plants are full, not when they fall short of quotas. In the best year, it should be on the market and it imports and therefore pays the staggering market prices, this is a fact, not an opinion. The transformation of Albania into a net energy exporting country is our goal and this will happen within 2030. But currently we are completely dependent on the market. To all those who count, I say that in total, what I showed you today is a financial support in times of crisis of almost half a billion.
