If you are referring to Lamberth, then in that case, Treasury is not involved.

I'm pretty sure it is FHFA, FANNIE MAE, FREDDIE MAC.

The agency would be taking money from FnF to pay out.

So your scenario wouldn't apply.

But anyone is free to correct me where I'm wrong or add to what I said.
