That is one interpretation. But it presupposes that Nasrat is or was clueless as to LCI's intent. Another interpretation is that he had the expected heads up from LCI (it is what companies do in such cases, to avoid being jerks no one wants to partner with and enable a more timely response. LCI knows this all too well with the Jerome Stevens contract cancellation they experienced and from which have yet to recover, which might have been the opportunity for Elite to gain a good distribution deal). \
