It works like this: a mania run up produces profits for those who entered early enough to take advantage of the run up. Some can sell some and ride the rest since those shares others have bought and paid for. A mania eventually produces bag holders. When the Greater Fool doesn't appear to the pay the next highest price then the market for those shares collapses like a house of cards collapses.
Manias are short lived. Keep that in mind. Monday will be a test to see if the crowd wants to continue to participate or if it will simply move on to the next New New Thing.
