IMO Pelosi went to Taiwan to blow her own horn. She's just one of many narcissist politicians that want to make themselves look good. She knows she's gone after the mid-terms, so she'll need fodder for the book she writes when she's finally gone. My guess is they'll be a couple of chapters in it about her courageous trip to Taiwan.
She probably conducted some personal business while she was there too.
As far as her provoking China, there was probably some of that, but IMO it was all about HER, not the USA. What else is new.
I see China looking for a reason to invade Taiwan and IMO it will happen before Dementia Joe leaves office. Every enemy of the US sees weakness with Biden and his regime. It's really very easy to see. They don't know what they're doing, so IMO China will take advantage while they can.
I don't see the U.S. getting into a hot war with China, but I think China knows that already, which is why they'll do it.
So, what happens if China invades and take out Taiwan, which they'll do fairly easily? Will the rest of the world put sanctions on them? Probably, about like the sanctions that have hit Russia that haven't done squat.
China makes more things than anybody else on the planet. How the Hell will the countries putting sanctions on China make it work for themselves? They won't because they'll be cutting their own throat if they do. I would contend sanctions we put on China would hurt us worse than them, but the Powers That Be will have to do it to save face. Make no mistake it will hurt China, but they have to know if they invade Taiwan that will happen.
The world economies will be turned on their ear and if you think Covid was bad I would expect something like this to be magnitudes worse. We can't rule out a hot war if mistakes are made, but I don't expect that to happen. My guess is most likely our generals have already talked to the Chinese generals and the Taiwan invasion has already been planned out to work a certain way.
We'll see how it plays out, but that's my 2 cents.
Of course, we know gold will rocket higher on an event like this happening.
