I would assume that he made his investment based on SEC information conveyed by Twitter management in their filings. Apparently they (the SEC) didn't ask for any way to substantiate those claims of how they arrived at that number of users - customer base. Investors and / or prospective buyers, would likely assume that they've somehow substantiated those claims given the fact that they filed them with a government regulatory agency.

All I can tell you, is according to that posting that I put up a couple of weeks back and based on twitters own statements, around 10% of their users are "verified - authenticated" , just as Musk's own account which displays a Twitter "seal of approval"..

That fact, IMO, itself states that the other 90% ARE NOT authenticated with the same due diligence. We know they aren't because anybody can roll over there and sign up for an account in five minutes using any name or profile you like.

The vast majority of the twitter community comes there to post under some anonymous profile. Good God it doesn't take a computer science degree to figure out that math. There's no real verification process for the other 90% of users. Twitter knows that. Everybody knows that. If it wasn't so easy, none of that twitter posting software would exist.

I've seen some of the twitter posting software out there that allows you to post up to X hundreds of times a day using up to 100 accounts or more. Why do you think they exist? Because twitter's system allows it. Businesses , individuals, politicians , campaigners and individuals use it all the time to get their message across. You can't even post a lot of times for all of the spam. I've posted on twitter at times and tried to find my own posting and the spam is coming so fast, I couldn't find my own posting.. THAT's BOTS my friend.. 90% anonymous profiles and LOTS of BOTS! lol
