We Don’t Have to Have All the Answers
Why is it that our culture pushes us to know everything about something before we believe it? Someone can tell us something that we’ve never seen or experienced, and we’re skeptical until we have the first-hand knowledge about it ourself. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with this natural-man behaviour, but when it comes to God’s Word, we should have no doubts about believing what the Holy Spirit reveals to us – regardless if we have sufficient knowledge or understanding of the matter.
God is the creator of the universe – which includes you and I, and His thoughts, wisdom and knowledge are so much greater than ours, that there is zero comparison – in fact, any comparison at all would be a negative integer on our part. As we read and study God’s Word, the Holy Spirit guides our interpretation of how to incorporate the Word into our daily lives – with or without fully understanding the interpretation given to us. We are to fully trust God’s discerning ability to lead us through this short walk of life upon this earth – without having to know every detail. The Word, in 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us that true believers “walk by faith – not by sight”. The next time your carnal-nature-self attempts to lead you down the path of “I won’t believe it until I fully understand it” concerning God's Word – just remember who holds the entire universe together, and in the palm of His hand, and trust Him with the unknown’s in your understanding.
