I remember when this case was indicted. Can you imagine the amount of currency JP Morgan must have made to settle with the DOJ for $920 million? As we have discussed multiple times, they don't care because they are making so much currency off this spoofing and other nonsense (i.e. - foreign currency manipulation, LIBOR manipuation, etc.) that any fines and/or trials are worth it. That is what happens when you get ding-dongs in positions of power in government who adhere to the idea that some institutions are too big to fail or too big to prosecute. This is a really good illustration of how one aspect of the larger system is just plain rotten. Of course, in the US the larger system itself at this point appears mostly rotten to me, IMHO. Some states and counties are what I am hoping can correct this somehow.
