There are millions of academic research papers out there right now. But how many of them have been actually used or read by someone?

The answer, not surprisingly, is: Few.

That’s because most people find them boring and too long to read.

This is why Elon Musk said that most of the academic Research papers are useless. Because they are just sitting there, collecting dust (digital dust?).
