Rejection campaign monetary contributions exceed Approval by almost 200 times

Businessmen, political leaders and lawyers are part of the 247 contributors who on Tuesday morning had donated Ch$144,773,400 for the parties and civil society organizations that are for the Rejection. In contrast to the Approval, this option adds Ch$771,363, that is, 187 times less than the alternative of not adhering to the Fundamental Charter proposal. This last option represents 99.4% of the total contributions.

In the case of Rejection, only 18 contributors made their identity transparent, so the origin of Ch$87,838,400 in contributions cannot be known. Among them, the main donor is the agricultural businessman and vice president of Evópoli, Ítalo Zunino, who was also a candidate for the Constitutional Convention. He donated Ch$10 million to the organization Chile Deserves More.

The second largest contributor is businessman Juan Andrés Camus, president of the Santiago Stock Exchange, who contributed Ch$9 million for Rejection. The latter is also director of companies such as Depósito Central de Valores S.A., CCLV Contraparte Central S.A., DCV Registros S.A., among others.

In April of this year, Camus said in an interview with Diario Financiero that "the smaller the changes to the rules of the game and the uncertainty is cleared up, the better for the investment."

The third party who put up the most money is the former Minister of Economy of the first government of Sebastián Piñera, the UDI economist Félix de Vicente (Ch$5,750,000). He has worked in areas such as plastics and kitchen equipment, and for the last time he has been away from contingent politics. In any case, he is still close to former President Piñera and, like him and everyone around him, they have been leaning towards Rejection for a long time.

In fourth place is the lawyer Juan Francisco Mackenna, partner of the Carey law firm. He is knowledgeable about the energy sector and is linked to politics, since he was director of the Instituto Libertad (close to RN) and also a member of the board of directors of the El Líbero outlet. Mackenna put up a contribution of Ch$4,400,000.

While the fifth largest contributor is Luis Bravo Garretón, with $4,000,000, who works at the Bravo Izquierdo construction company. Like him, other donors to the Rejection are linked to the real estate sector, such as the advisor to the Chilean Chamber of Construction, Sergio Silva Fraser, who contributed Ch$3,335,000, and Cristián Boetsch -from the Boetsch real estate company-, who did with Ch$3,000,000.

In that sector they have had a critical opinion regarding the proposal. In fact, during the CChC's Annual Construction Breakfast last June, the union's president, Antonio Errázuriz, criticized that "the drafting process and the content of the constitutional proposal, far from helping to resolve the differences between Chileans It has stressed them."

In the case of Approval, none of his contributors gave his identity. One of the organizations that received the most money was Tu Voto Matta, with Ch$297,293, while Quillón Aproba received $195,000 and the Amnesty International Support Corporation received Ch$118,000, among others.

The difference in money between one option and the other is something that was also given in the entry plebiscite. On that occasion, at the last count of October 25, 2020, of the total of Ch$541,303,031 in contributions, 78.9% was for Rejection and 14.4% for Approval, while the remaining 6.7 % was for the Constitutional Convention option

There is going to be some serious money going into advertising/social media on defeating the proposed new constitution scheduled for public voting on September 4. In fact, Boric and the commies are freaking out so badly now that the new constitution is going to be rejected that they are willing to meet early with the centrists and the right-wing to salvage the mutually agreeable parts of the draft constitution and gain approval for these articles prior to September 4 using the current constitution's approval processes https://www.latercera.com/la-tercera-pm/noticia/que-reformar-el-listado-que-asoma-en-el-oficialismo-para-modificar-de-la-nueva-constitucion-y-las-senales-de-la-moneda/LCSNW3QNY5GY3DJLFCDXHSFQKM/

The "losing" commies and the left-wing are realizing this week that they are on the boxing ropes and going down for the knock-out count on September 4... so you can bet they will be fighting to introduce new legislation in August to seek approval on the easy-peasy draft articles that they can salvage.

Dear José Antonio Kast, https://www-chilealinstante-cl.translate.goog/entretenimiento/2022/7/25/la-contundente-respuesta-de-contraloria-jose-antonio-kast-9549.html?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp The commies/leftists will very likely soon be kissing your_ass in the Chamber of Deputies to get key portions of their "constitutional level" agenda approved early in August prior the September 4 vote... may we (ie "we" lithium miners) propose to you that you horse trade some of your precious right-wing party congressional votes to the left-wing agenda in exchange for the left-wing supporting (with their votes) your new motion to REPEAL the Strategic Mineral classification on Lithium? If ever you had the maximum amount of political leverage to kill the Strategic Mineral classification on Lithium.... it will be in August inside the Chamber of Deputies.
