No one mentions the source. The summary is that Twitter uses small manual sampling to determine bots or fake accounts.

Most people seem to think @elonmusk's interest in Twitter was all a charade. However, it's @twitter's accounting and handling of bots that are the charade.

How can you stop spam bots infestation if you don't want to acknowledge they exist?
