I think that's why the problem lies with the DTC and NOT the brokers. The brokers are pretty much helpless to do anything, until the DTC allows them to. Several weeks ago, my broker told me that the Scottrade home office said that the DTC 'has not given the go-ahead for the cusip number change.' Plus, that's what all of these rumors have been saying as well. That it's the DTC that is holding this up. My broker has told me many times, that if the DTC gives the word, they (Scottrade) will electronically switch the numbers immediately.
