The question I'd ask is, are there other therapeutics that do as well, or better than the results they're seeing. If not, is there a path to approval with the results that they are seeing.

If the goal had been set too high, and just missed, it would seem like there is may still be hope after discussions with the regulators. The real question may be, can it happen without requiring further trials.
