My hunch is that we were going to get our merger PR, but the merging company decided that they don't want to do the merger until all outstanding legal issues are 100% dealt with. So, even though this calasse thing will go nowhere as he has already lost and this is just a spiteful appeal to gum up the works, we need to wait until it is done with before the merging company wants to move forward.

Sucks on the timing, but it does give people the chance to add more shares at very depressed prices. I think this is the most rational and simple explanation for why the merger was not announced. The big selloff was simply because people felt blind sided and the percentage of the selloff was overdone as a result.
