The B shares are much more flexible unless you have millions in the stock. The A shares have more voting power, per share. Famously neither class pays dividends.

You might want to see this about the creation of the B shares around 1996 when BRK bought the Burlington Northern SF Railroad. Either shares will get you into the famous annual meeting in Omaha in May.
