Because other large companies see the value - iRobot bought and air cleaner tech company in November. If you think that air cleaning technology is going to die off think again. It’s a $27B market by 2028 - just the facts

With its latest acquisition, Bedford-based iRobot Corp. is expanding into a sector that saw a boost from the pandemic: air purification. Yet CEO Colin Angle said the new product will face the same China tariffs that have been driving extra cost for some of iRobot's cleaning robots.

The Bedford-based maker of Roomba vacuums (Nasdaq: IRBT) said on Thursday it has bought Aeris Cleantec AG, a provider of air purifiers headquartered in Switzerland that raised approximately $8.8 million in funding. IRobot paid $72 million in cash for Aeris, which employs over 30 people, according to Angle.
