Don't know about Kips Bay Family Office per se, but there are many Family Office organizations that employ very competent and thorough research staffs. They can put boots on the ground and meet with researchers and others that may be involved with their investments. It may be possible that Kips Bay has garnered enough research at the ground floor level that they felt comfortable to average their cost down.
Let's hope that good things are in the offing.
