SUGAR LAND, TX, July 1, 2022- Skye Petroleum, Inc. (Pink Sheets: SKPO) is pleased to announce that Wentworth “Buck” Eaton has joined Skye Petroleum, Inc. as its new CEO and Board Member. Gary Merritt has retired from his daily functions as CEO, but will remain as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Skye Petroleum, Inc. and becomes Chief Operations Officer.
Wentworth Eaton was an original co-founder of Skye Petroleum, Inc. in 2009 after the company re-established and reorganized to expand into the chemical segment of the oil industry. Before joining Skye as COO in 2009, he worked 16 years in the financial industry. He used that experience to reorganize Skye to the current capital structure with no debt. Additionally, as COO, he oversaw sales increase from zero to over $800,000 plus established distributor and blender relationships. He has worked as a Consultant for Skye Petroleum since resigning as an officer in February 2015.
Gary Merritt and Jon Laria, CFO and long standing Board Member, have kept the company debt free and prevented the company from sliding into bankruptcy like so many small oil industry companies did in 2015 after the oil markets crashed in 2014.
