I'm applying a little logic here and call BS on the Spiber inference that being molecularly identical to "spider silk" equates to having the same properties such as strength, density, energy density, extensibility, toughness, temperature stability, flexibility, adhesion, etc. Per their quote, "Spiber studied thousands of different spider species, as well as other silk-producing species, and compiled a database of silk varieties." As some spiders can produce up to 7 varieties of silks, I find it incomprehensible, utterly improbable, and likely impossible to believe true what Spiber said with a batch of brewed goo that one match equals all varietal potential! This is simply is not scientifically possible, but quite a astute marketing ploy to fool the masses to infer something quite far from the truth. But they said it, right?
