Doug, Chico: Online Disinformation.....I think the story should be viewed against what China did to undercut Mountain pass. I can see China doing this whether or not it had much effect. I would trust Mandiant's tools and evaluation before Investor Intel's panel. (No, I have not looked at the video yet, will later.)

China has more influence with American Politicians and out right purchase of favorable Media coverage through out right Purchases of "Advertising." (Anyone from China posting to this thread? :) Investor Intel is a media firm I think?

Virginia-based Mandiant Inc., which was founded by former U.S. government security experts, said in a report that Toronto-based Appia and two other rare earth companies, Lynas Rare Earths Ltd. and USA Rare Earth LLC, were targeted by an online network called Dragonbridge, a front for the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

“Since rare earths mineral mining is of strategic significance to the PRC, and these entities are challenging the PRC’s global market dominance in that industry, our experts believe Dragonbridge is targeting this sector to maintain its advantage,” Mandiant wrote in an e-mail to The Globe and Mail.

I suspect USA Rare Earths was targeted because they have the only North American REE Magnet plant purchased from Hitachi REE Magnet and being moved to Stillwater OK. 0 (Probably a much better business enviornment in OK with a better work force. )
