Companies that have mature businesses with slow growth opportunities and low stock prices and excess cash buy back shares.
Public companies should not be buying back shares if they are expanding operations Nationally and Internationally and have big growth ahead. Any CASH they are generating should be used to fund that expansion, but fact is most will be borrowing cash to allow them to move faster than just organic growth.
Plus investors want those cheap shares and the company wants the cash so what is not to like, LOL
