My Amateur Pyschological Profile of our Captor.

I just got back from a 3 mile scorching hot walk. And I was typing this as I was walking at SA. I don't know anything of his past and still very NILE ignorant. Just the mannerisms of what I saw brought back this flood of memories below of someone I knew. He acts, talks, behaves exactly the same way. So anybody knows Mr. A at Nile, tell me what, if anything, is similar.

My First Post:

Your link fits my percetions. There is a trail of burned bodies everywhere he goes. He would be fun to have a drink with though. I don't know if you recall, ,but I once mentioned an old friend that made created a huge catering empire. Which all crumbled. And in his wake, many upet brides and accusations. All I can say is that his heart was in the right place I think. He became an alcoholic later. He did drink and party a lot. When I first knew him, he was like John Travolta. Looked like him, girls fell all over him. It was good to be in his shadow! Back int he day.
He's dead now. Died last year, in fact. His dreams never realized. But there was a point when he was on top of the world. He looks a lot like this Ault guy as I remember him about ten years ago. Adn his mannerisms, the way he talks, the way he jumps around in topic, interrupts, dominates in the conversation, etc. He was indeed a great delegator. He was able to put togethe something amazing. But it all crumbled in the end, as well as his life. It's sad. Just a memory is all. I like to remember the good in him. His motives were not malicious.

@Racer-X come to think of it. There is a magnificent building that stands a today that he designed. He went to Mexico and picked Things out. It’s a breathtaking venue. His name has been erased like the lost pharaoh. Disgraced. The current owner refers to him as “evil”. He took ownership amidst a huge disaster filled with drama that almost destroyed his life too. It did change it as he knew it. There are marks left scattered across Houston. Very tangible marks on the world he literally made. But his name appears nowhere. Erased from history. But I remember him. Truly tragic. Even though he did leave a trail of carnage behind him. People still picking up The pieces. I don’t think he was evil. He just dreamed too big. He was so close in some of the things he said in retrospect. Some bad choices that lead to some bad spirals. Might be a similar situation on this profile. Not sure.
Really sad. I won’t remember him as evil. I also remember him being a big fan and avid reader of the rich dad poor dad books. I think that was the title. He kept thinking big. Thinking rich. Took risks. Didn’t have a college degree. He was doing more than what many finance majors couod do however. Natural leadership skills. It just all blew up. That wasn’t his intent. He blew up too. Despite perceptions and accusations.

That’s all the memories that come back to me when I watch the video of our captor talk. All his mannerisms. All the same.

My final thoughts here:

I can remember some first signs of "sleaziness" from my friend from my first job. I did not know he would going to be the owner of a huge empire that ultimately crumbled. He was just a lazy waiter to me. LOL But fun. His fiance was actually my friend, which is how he became my friend. He gave her a vineral diseas from one of his many one-night stands, and that was the final straw. Wedding terminated, and she kicked him out on the street. True story. And she still owes me $500, but that's another story. A zero-interest loan (God, what was I thinking) which is probably $1,500 in today's money. Still haven't seen a red penny back. Everybody was irresponsible with money except for me. I learned the hard way, keep fits of money tight. When you hear the words "you kn ow me," RUN!!! I had to re-learn that over a few times through my life.

I was jealous. He didn't have to try. Why did women fall over him and not me? Just because he's tall and looks like John Travolta (in his hey day) and has the gift of gab? He's sooo immature and reckless though. He drinks way too much and spends all his money he makes at the bar after work.

Anyway, we were working at Steak & Ale. Which had a prestigous wine list when I went in, but starting going downhill after a Pilsbury bought it. Super stars in the restaurant industry emerged from there like Michael Jenkins (who later died of cancer during his last turnaround attempt at Diedrich Coffee). And evertyhing Pilsbury did was wrong, and my friend knew it and it pissed him off. When they took Dom Perignon off the wine list, my friend convinced the manager to sell it anyway on New Years Eve. I became his first "investor" I think. I put up the money for his inventory, a bunch of Dom Perignon bottles that he bought. So not a penny of his own money. I was promised a return, and I did make a great return. We banked so huge! And he made a deal with the liquor store that whatever didn't sell, eh could return.

The manager got his cut too. We offered guests what they wanted. Dom Perignong at prices that were not inflated. Simply the prices that Steak & Ale took away from us, thus reducing our commission and standard of living. So, he took matters into his own hands. And we all benefited. We were so motivated to sell the Dom too. We split all the profits, and that was probably the most I ever made on New Years Eve.

Sleazy? Yes. Good business and leadership qualities? Yes. Was Pilsbury wrong? Yes.

True story. Then, flash forward ten years later after I got married and we lost contact, and re-united, and he had this huge empire. Which ultimately crashed and burned. He even had some actors from Hollywood visit his place, and I was there where there was some car from a movie. That movie.. it was kinda sadistic. I have to think about what movie that was. Allegedly anyway... But that investor backed out at last minute. And he just couldn't keep the dream alive. It was a good dream though. And his intent was not malicious. Never. Not to his fiance, not to anyone. He just had big dreams, big risks, and obviously controversial "ethics." But, sex is good, money is good. Righting wrongs is good. He wasn't evil.

Anyway, I don't know anything about NILE at all. Just the flood of memories that came back to me. Watching that interview was like listening to that friend as I knew him 10 years ago. He looks so similar to my last mental images, and his mannerisms exactly the same. Almost the same voice. I know nothing of the background of NILE. I just don't see "evil" here, but I do see a trail of carnage left behind. He may very well believe what he says. Maybe he is a fan of Rich Dad/Poor Dad too. I don't know. I didn't even read the books either.
