Nothing scary or hard to understand at all. A modern patent troll company inserts some addendum into an already existing patent, or an older patent that parts are used today and then sues any company that also uses that intellectual property as if it was their own original property.

Companies like this only make income for insiders and owners through stock sales and pay offs from companies that don't want to bother to go to court. When another company does fight VP, vp will lose because they will not be able to show history of the patent nor product using the patent nor prove they are being damaged from any of the companies they keep suing. At some point a company like voip-pal will be labeled a patent troll and will lose enough where they will then announce a new type of business and other patents.
