But there is no reason for them to increase the interest rates - that's my point.

What is the problem they are trying to address? Inflation.

What is causing inflation?
#1 factor is the cost of transporting goods as supply chain ramps up (even if they exclude energy from the calculation it is impacting the other components)

What is impacting that?
#1 factor is the global price of crude oil

Why is that high?
#1 factor is lack of production from OPEC countries unwilling to increase to pre-pandemic levels
#2 factor is the Russian oil situation (selling cheap but limited supply and being cut off )

So nothing to do with Interest rates or anything the Fed controls......

Stop the rate increases and Stock market will recover.
