Thanks for these stats Arizona1. Based on them, this is the legislation congress should approve:

1. Let the deep south secede from the USA. That would solve a good portion of our gun violence problem.

2. Do nothing about Wyoming and Alaska. They only have 1.3M people combined so their stats have no overall effect on the USA gun violence stats.

3. Did DailyKos print stats on racial demographics ? Hawaii, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island have far fewer african americans than the national average. And as this link indicates, african americans are easily 10 times more likely to commit violent crime than anyone else. So I approve of increasing the legal age, and having a long waiting period for purchasing guns, but if DailyKos cares about stats, what we really need to bring down gun violence is "young lower income african american men control" legislation.
