He did say that, but why he said that is debatable.

If you have one group of 153 patients that have six serious adverse events, and another group of 50 patients who have none of these serious adverse events, and the only difference between the groups is the study drug (assuming the randomisation was done properly) what are the odds this is by random chance? (Hint: it's pretty small.)
