Of course it makes no sense but that's not the same as saying that there's no reason for it.

On April 21 the CDC issued a health advisory saying ...
"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is issuing this Health Alert Network (HAN) Health Advisory to notify clinicians and public health authorities of a cluster of children identified with hepatitis and adenovirus infection."
This was based on 9 cases in Alabama and some previously reported cases in the UK.

So it was a new development regarding what so far is a rare condition, making it perfect fodder for Devious Diwan to break out his old "The Company believes it can successfully develop a drug candidate against (fill in the blank______) in a relatively short period of time" mantra. It should be noted that the Company has NEVER successfully developed a drug candidate for ANY disease in ANY period of time, much less a short one.
I'm surprised that it took him all of 3 weeks to jump on this "opportunity". If one were to Google "severe pediatric hepatitis" they would be at least 4 pages deep (that's as far as I looked) and still not have seen any mention of any other Company suggesting that it it can successfully develop a drug candidate against hAd41-F.....maybe one or two turned up in the other 28,600 results but I wasn't about to look through them all. Making Diwan the King of Opportunists.

"Scam" and "fraud" are ugly words and they may or may not apply here, but the repeated suggestive application of the "The Company believes it can successfully develop a drug candidate" mantra without any such successful development ever having occurred could readily be described as huckstering. And it's a safe bet that some parent somewhere drew hope from the words of Dr. Falsehope's press release. And I expect that parent, based on the LONG history of failures, to be disappointed. And whether this is just another scam/fraud or not, that's shameful.

ps. While not the point of this message I can't help wondering whether this candidate, if there ever is a candidate, will require another license agreement to be imposed on NNVC by Diwan's company TheraCour as was the case with the Covid candidates....requiring 7 milestone payments, royalties on sales and ongoing development cost payments?
