If they have the needed engineers and have consulted with technology copyright Infringement Attorneys, why not?

Now he throws that he "may" be able to do all with reverse licensing but the arrangements need to be approached correctly.



If they have the base patents, technology, and source code, they can technically "reverse engineer" anything as long as it does not fall under anyone's copy infringement. They can literally have the code of some of the sold patents to QC, and use this code on a new product that has a whole different purpose, and that wouldn't be infringing on any patent. We already know they still have some patents, so they technically still have the sold technology but cannot produce the same product being sold by QC, but they can definitely do something that's similar with a twist. They definitely have the technology but it looks like to me they don't want to risk a lawsuit from QC, so he calls it "reverse engineering".
