It won’t stop until they give up on their attempt to push the share price down. The only way that happens is if they get all the shares they want to buy, or the price continues up and they give up. Imo

I’ve tried to buy shares at the bid, and haven’t been able to do so, why is that? Always shares at the same price or just a little higher than my price. Maybe the MMs choose to buy instead of buying shares on my behalf. Can’t figure out why that is? Can you?
