Free,_free at_last, thank_god almighty,_we're free_at last_(ref-MLK). Constitution Rewrite
Convention drops ball-busting junior-miner-killing commie-inspired proposed article that only the state can carry out lithium mining activities
Read: Environment Commission of the Convention eliminates controversial article on copper and declares the sea and the radio spectrum as inappropriate assets (see second half of paragraph 3). The oversight for lithium mining in the new constitution will basically be status quo in that the Chilean State will issue "administrative authorizations" (ie same as old constitution) exactly like the governments in all civilized non-dictatorial non-miner-raping intelligent rational nations have enacted.
The second part of paragraph 3 in this VNExplorer article reads: in one of the most controversial matters, the article was replaced that previously indicated that only the State can carry out mining activities on lithium, and that, in the opinion of some critics, pointed to the same thing on copper, but with a minority participation of private; and where it was also mentioned that "all mining activities will require administrative authorization granted by the competent authority"

The "competent authority" in this case is and remains primarily CChEN, SEA and then the Ministry of Mining... all three of which we have basically already slept with and in return gotten our normal approvals. In this new constitutional rewrite convention article we no longer would have to have a mandatory State partner (aka chaperone) like Codelco in order to mine lithium.

Whew, us junior lithium miners can officially breathe a sigh of relief today.

The Doctor

PS, Dear Codelco, may we suggest that you sell your 325,000mt LCE export quota license to Elon Musk (or Warren Buffet at BYD) while the selling is good. Now is your chance to get out of the lithium business forever and make a pretty penny at the same time.
