I ran across this video that was done by Ray Dalio that IMO is a must watch. He gives a fantastic historical perspective of how empires rise and fall. More importantly how it all happens. This is what I've done a fairly poor job at trying to explain myself.

Much of what Dalio is saying about the decline of an empire we can see happening in the U.S. now, but he leaves the viewer hanging with how he thinks it will play out because he wants you to buy his book to find out that answer. LOL

I think we know how it all plays out, the real question is how long before we get there? What will be the event that tips the scale? IMO that's coming.

P.S.: I had to laugh at in the beginning of the video when Dalio talks about gold he refers to it as REAL MONEY. I didn't know Ray was a gold bug.
